Privacy Policy

Nachoz is built so that your viewing habits stay yours. This page explains exactly what data the app handles, where it is stored, and which third parties are involved.

Last updated: 24 August 2026

01Who we are

Nachoz is a mobile application for tracking films and TV series. The app is published by Nachoz, based in Belgium. For any question about this policy or your personal data, contact us at hello@nachoz.app.

Because we are established in Belgium, Nachoz is subject to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Belgian data protection law. For the limited processing described below, Nachoz acts as the data controller.

02The short version

Nachoz does not have user accounts, and we do not run advertising or sell data. Your watchlist, progress, ratings and settings are stored on your device and, if you enable it, synchronised through your own private iCloud account.

We cannot read your library. Nachoz has no server holding your viewing history.

03Data stored on your device

The following data is created by you and kept locally in the app: tracked series and films, watched episodes and progress, favourites and watchlists, personal ratings and notes, filters, and app preferences.

This data stays on your device unless you turn on iCloud sync. Deleting the app removes the local copy.

04iCloud sync

If you enable sync, your library is stored in your personal iCloud container so it can follow you across your Apple devices. That container belongs to your Apple Account, is managed by Apple, and is not accessible to us.

Apple's handling of iCloud data is described in the Apple Privacy Policy. You can disable sync at any time in the app or in your device settings.

05Third-party services

To show catalogue information, Nachoz sends requests to third-party film and TV data providers, including TMDB and JustWatch. These requests contain the search terms or title identifiers needed to return a result, plus technical information your device necessarily transmits when connecting to a server, such as your IP address.

We do not attach your identity or your library to these requests. Each provider processes the connection data it receives under its own privacy policy, and some providers are located outside the European Economic Area. Where that is the case, transfers rely on the safeguards those providers put in place, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Purchases, subscriptions and app downloads are handled entirely by the Apple App Store. We never receive your payment details.

06Legal bases

We process the limited data described above to perform the contract you enter into when you use the app (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR), namely providing tracking and catalogue features you request.

Optional features such as iCloud sync or diagnostic sharing rely on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) and can be withdrawn at any time in your settings.

07Analytics and crash reports

Nachoz does not use advertising identifiers and does not track you across other apps or websites.

If you have enabled sharing of analytics or crash diagnostics in your iOS settings, Apple may provide us with aggregated, non-identifying reports about stability and usage. This is controlled by you at the system level and can be switched off in iOS Privacy & Security settings.

08Retention

Your library is kept for as long as you keep the app installed or the data present in your iCloud container. Deleting an item in the app, or deleting the app and its iCloud data, removes it. Requests sent to third-party catalogue providers are retained by those providers according to their own policies.

09Children

Nachoz is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, contact us and we will delete it.

10Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. Because your library lives on your device and in your own iCloud account, you can exercise most of these rights directly: view, edit, export or delete your data from within the app and your Apple Account settings.

For anything you cannot do yourself, write to hello@nachoz.app. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Autorité de protection des données / Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit, Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels).

11Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app changes. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and significant changes will be announced in the app.
